One of my travel highlights last month was getting to attend and cover Carnaval in San Pedro, Belize. My friend Dorian who owns the local newspaper, Ambergris Today, let me hang with him and his staff to cover one of the day’s events.
Dorian has become a really good friend over the last year, and I’m honored and lucky to have worked alongside someone so talented. He is a testament to the incredible people we can encounter while traveling and how they can impact our lives. Had it not been for going to Belize so many times, our paths would’ve never crossed and I would’ve missed out on knowing one of the most genuine and wonderful people I’ve ever met.
I thought today was the perfect day to feature a photo of Dorian since his birthday was yesterday and it reminded me of my last day in Belize, which included this afternoon shot at Carnaval. If you haven’t experienced Carnaval in Belize and are considering a trip down, it’s definitely a worthwhile event to schedule around. I definitely plan to be back in 2013!
