Photo of the Day: Lake Tahoe, California
In looking back at photos to post for the A to Z Blog challenge, I find myself reminiscing about my days living in California — specifically Northern California. With Napa only 45 minutes from my doorstep, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe about 1.5 hours each, there was no shortage of things to do and places to go when I was living there.
My old career required me to travel periodically to Reno, Nevada, and through various parts of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Because I was always in a rush to get to the appearance or back to my office, I never stopped to really appreciate the natural beauty around me. One day, I took the time and stopped on my way back from Nevada to reflect and finally realize how lucky I was to live in such a beautiful part of California.
This photo was taken around northern Lake Tahoe on a January afternoon back in 2008. I ended up catching more traffic once I hit the city limits again, but it was absolutely worth it.
