Hotels in New York City can run the gamut from moderately priced motel-style properties to over-the-top luxury towers. If you’re looking for a more boutique-style hotel, here are five options to get you started.

La Quinta Inn & Suites Manhattan

You may be familiar with the La Quinta brand from your road trips across America, but there is also a La Quinta Inn & Suites Manhattan. Rooms feature either a king, one or two queens, or an ADA Accessible king bed. Amenities include 32-inch flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, pillow-top mattresses, and more. Complimentary breakfast is included. The hotel is conveniently located near major attractions like the Empire State Building and Macy’s Department Store, and it’s only a half block away from a subway station. With rates as low as $99 on some nights, it’s a great deal in the heart of Manhattan.

Bentley Hotel

The Bentley Hotel is located near the Midtown area of New York City, close to Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and more. Rooms at the Bentley Hotel include luxury bedding, marble bathrooms, a minibar, and a desk. Ask about rooms with a fridge or microwave. Have dinner at Bentley Prime Restaurant located on the hotel’s rooftop, and don’t miss the sunsets! The Bentley is said to have some of the best sunsets on the Upper East Side. You may luck out to find rates as low as $185 or even lower during the slower winter months.

The Marlton Hotel

Located near Greenwich Village and Washington Square in Manhattan, The Marlton Hotel is a blend of vintage and contemporary. Rooms are small but luxuriously appointed. Look for plush beds, intricate architectural details like herringbone wood floors and crown moldings, floor-to-ceiling windows, private marble bathrooms, and more. Grab coffee at the espresso bar, enjoy a drink at the cocktail bar, and have dinner at Margaux, the hotel’s Mediterranean inspired restaurant. Weekday rates start around $235 a night, while weekends can be $325 a night or higher.

NYLO New York City

NYLO New York City basically means New York Loft, and the charming yet hip hotel is located on the Upper West Side. The building is a century old and retains much of its historic charm, including an original fireplace. The hotel added a 1920s French elevator system and custom artwork to round out the space. Rooms are loft-inspired, with some featuring outdoor balconies. Others have incredible views of Central Park, the NYC skyline, or the Hudson River. Rates can vary widely, from as low as $200 up to $500 a night.

Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC

Rooms at the Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC include standard conveniences like a king or queen bed, coffee maker, minibar, and complimentary Wi-Fi. There is a heated rooftop pool and bar, which can draw quite a crowd on weekend nights. The Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC is located in the trendy NoMad district, or “North of Madison Square Park,” between the Flatiron building and Empire State Building. The 28th Street subway station is nearby and will take you to other New York City attractions and landmarks. Superior rooms start at $445 a night, while Gansevoort Suites start at $775.
